Have you hugged your radiator/electric heater today? If not why not?… - Keeper of the Cages
Have you hugged your radiator/electric heater today?

If not why not?

I'm currently trying to steal all the heat my electric towel heater can produce by being wrapped around it. Why am I not in bed wrapped up in a quilt and a sleeping bag? It's all the fault of my shiny new computer software which doesn't like one of the files on my computer and the only way to fix it is to download a service pack from the Microsoft web site. The only problem being I'm on a dial-up connection that's slower than a tortoise and there are 12 different components to the pack that I need to download. All being large they take for ever. I've been at it since 5pm this afternoon, so that would be *counts on fingers* about 8/9 hours now. I want to sleep, but can't until this is finished. Doesn't help that the connection seems to shut off all by itself when it hits 2 hours of use.

In other news I talked to my doctor about my blood test results and he said that they were all normal. My reply to that was to look at the phone as if the man was insane and say in my head "oh yes very normal, if normal is being permanently frozen (summer & winter) and unable to hold a pen or do much of anything most of the time." I knew they'd say it anyway and not do anything so I wasted a week at home, well not exactly wasted seeing as I got to see Kathryn and my family etc, but it's the principle of the whole darned thing. Conclusion doctors have a weird sense of "normal".

Going to see if the stupid things near completion and then go to bed, after checking e-mails and what not! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Current Mood: aggravated aggravated

Ok, this is kind of a silly question...

But this head-talking about normality. Did you actually say ANY of this to the man? At all? Because you know, if they don't know, they can't do anything about it. I mean, at least ask what their definition is, you know?

Yup, silly. But there has to be something to make it better.

Yes I and I did tell him that was how I got the weird look when I was in his office. He knows - I even made the fact more pointy when he said I should emigrate to a warm country that it had no effect 'cos I was cold even on holiday in very warm places.

Nada, just aparently "wear warm gloves" is the solution. Pish!

Which is bollocks. Two words: second opinion.

You know, you can always go register in Stir for the rest of the semester and ask them.

Stir is even worse than at home. Stir the doctor goes "yes and what do you want me to do about it?" Erm hello make better would be a good start! lol!

Meh! I'm gonna wait 'til I get home and then see what the test say then. In that case I can then see they say and maybe refer.

Lived with it long enough a few more weeks isn't going to change anything!

True... but, like, is there only one doctor in Stirling?

Meh, it's up to you, but you know, make sure you DO get it sorted out if you can when you're home, because if it's affecting your work, it could affect jobs and stuff, so...

Gah. You know, it all comes back to this grown up BOLLIX we're forced to endure. Grr.

No, I guess there is more than one.

I will get it sorted and anyway it's never really stopped me working, though may prevent SB working for a long period. too much water and diff temps involved.

Yup grown up-ness sux! Want to join me in my quest for Never Never Land?!

Dude, you wouldn't WANT to work for SBs for a long period of time! But at least you can always just come back in the summer and it's all good, while you look for something else. Honest, it's NOT as evil once you get on the till and stuff. And the bar is FUN! Although, ingrained coffee is an issue.
