Just to prove all the people who say I'm insane - Keeper of the Cages
Just to prove all the people who say I'm insane
So I started work this week. Nothing wrong or insane about that nope, not one little bit (that'll come along a wee bit later!)

Work was good, different but good all the same. I get to play with at least 3 different stamps so you know I'm going to come home covered in coloured inks, and things like and
Well at least I'll look like I had a productive day wont I?! I think there's more to my job than that, but for the moment I have no idea - if that's it well I'm sure I can spend the next three years doing it! The people are really nice and I hope that they like me enough to keep me on for the next couple of years!

The first day was good though 'cos I got a tour of "The Office". When saying that I mean the administration part of the business not the factory bit. I met all these people and I have no idea who they are what they do and all the rest of it! Then there was a departmental meeting, which includes going out for lunch on the department! Sooo very good for a first day going for a chinese at lunch! I didn't get my factory tour until Thursday afternoon when the place had shut down for the day, but now I know where they make all the exciting things like toothpaste etc etc! It's amazing how large the place is 'cos it looks rather small when you see it from the outside.

Oh just to go back a bit I didn't think the first day would go too well seeing as I did a Kamikaze driving maneuver where I whizzed infront of a lorry that was turning around in the entrance to the works' carpark! Yes I like living dangerously and hey if I got splatted it'd an adventure!

Anyway finished work and tootled off to College in Warrington. That was rather boring really 'cos it's all on Excel at the moment and I've done that before. 8 weeks of Excel and then onto the stuff I really want to learn.

Tuesday was work and then College in Hartford where I found out I was on the wrong course - instead of being on the "go your own way" course I was on the "lets go slow and show you every step as if you've never seen a computer before" course. Needless to say I changed over straight away! That course at least means I get to go on the internet and learn!

Wednesday work and the last College course Bookkeeping. Rather boring after the first two exercises, but hey I'm learning a valuable skill which has become completely redundant in the world! I mean nearly everyone has their accounts done on the computer now, but you never know there might be some forgotten place that doesn't and they'll want to employ me at some point!

Thursday involved a lot of "ooooh I get to actually go home before 9.30pm!" Went shopping and bought a pretty new suit, they say it's black I say it's grey, but who's going to argue?! Then I went to Kathryn's twice to steal CDs before she went away and then return them. Borrowed both the Zed albums (listening to them very loudly at the moment!)

Friday another day when I got home before 9.30pm, in fact I got home at 5.20pm so I was very happy!

So we get the picture of how my week is going to be for the next how ever many months it takes to finish the college courses. Busy and lacking in time to do things.

Now comes the part where I can see my family and friends standing around the edge of the room with the white coated men telling me it'll all be fine!

I'm going to work at Starbucks on the weekend and Friday nights. Yes that's right in addition to a 37.5hour working week and 9 hours of college I'm adding at least 8hours of Starbucks work. I haven;t done the maths yet, but I think I'll only have time left in the week for sleep. Not that it really matters 'cos there is no one here that I could go out with if I had the time anyway. Kathryn's permanently at work or where ever. Laura's not living here anymore. Mike's away at Uni. Si's working weekends anyway. Natalie's working in the week, but she's got her college/uni friends that she goes out with anyway. I haven't spoken to Zoe in ages and anyway she's got baby Lou to look after. I think I should at least get to spend sometime with Kathryn if I'm working Starbucks, well I'll at least see her.

If it all gets too much I can tell Starbucks where to go. It's not that tragic and I can at least save some money and lose some weight if I'm not going to have time for dinner etc most days!

All in all I may need therapy in a few weeks, but I want to give it a go. I don't need a life if people aren't here for me to share it with - what's the point of it if you can't share it with the people you want to?!

What do you think I manage to survive a 12hour working day sans breakfast, sans lunch and sans dinner?! I'm not that stupid even if I do look it.
